This panel or dashboard mounted assembly can be used for both lighting cigarette and for accessories such as GPS, 12 volt chargers or iPods. Works with all lighter plugs and all 12 volt style accessory plugs.
This listing is for one lighter socket, lighter plug with skirt, one accessory locking socket, connecting jumper cable, and mounting plate. The sockets have a heavy nylon UV resistant body and nickel plated metal parts. Vinyl opening caps produce a waterproof seal at the opening. Both sockets are designed to be vibration resistance. The terminals are male 0.250 or 6mm style crimp terminals. The socket mounts into a 1-1/8" hole. They are rated a 15 amps at 12 volts. Socket length from flange to the end of the terminals is 2.0".
Two ways to mount this socket. It can be mounted against a panel that is up to 1-1/4" thick by using the socket nuts supplied. The nut tightens on the socket body to secure the socket to the panel. Or it can be mounted to even thicker panels by using the double compression plate with four screws (not included). The plate goes over the front of the socket flanges and the four screw ( not include) press the socket up against the panel from the front.
The plug comes with a vinyl plug boot / skirt to make the plug socket combination more waterproof. When using a 12 volt plug and socket combination outdoors, there is a gap between the socket and the plug that is susceptible to water entry. The plug boot slides over any cigarette lighter plug or accessory plug. When the plug is inserted into the power outlet / socket, the boot presses up against the socket surface and forms a seal. No more blown fuses or intermittent operation
This kit includes a jumper connecting cable that allows both socket to be connected together with one connection to your cable.
