Now includes a straight vinyl wire boot to protect the wire terminal connections from water and weather. This makes the socket even more resistant to the environment for more reliable operation.
This is a kit of a female socket that mates with a right angle bracket L style that is made of a sturdy nylon. Mount has four mounting holes. The socket is marine grade nylon plastic and is UV and weather resistant with its tight fitting socket opening cap and a boot to cover the wire terminal contacts. The contacts are brass and are nickel plated. The socket is vibration resistant, unlike less expensive versions. It requires an 1 1/8" hole for mounting and has .250 quick male connectors. Rated for 15 amps at 12 volts DC. Draws no power when not in use, so it can't run down our battery.
The bracket can be mounted two ways: with screws ( screws not provided) attach the the mount to a horizontal surface on a 2"x 2" foot print. The mount is keyed to the socket so that when assembled, the socket will not twist when used with a locking plug
Works with any standard cigarette lighter plug or lockable marine plug. Check our other listing if you need a locking plug. A locking plug looks like a regular male lighter plug but when twisted in this socket can not be pulled unless twisted again.
